Striker/OPRF One Families,
We are looking for interested players (and parents) who want the opportunity to become a center referee or an assistant referee (linesmen). It is a great way to earn money while participating in an activity you love. New referees will be mentored on the field by our experienced adult referees.
Strikers is sponsoring 3 separate licensing clinics March 17-18 at Oak Park River Forest High School. There is a 2 day session for those wishing to become center referees and/or ARs (Grade 8), a 1 day session for those who wish to be ARs (Grade 12) and a 1 day licensing renewal class for our current referees.
All referees must attend a certification clinic each year and pass a written exam in order to work OPRF Striker games. There is a USSF license fee and a clinic course fee that must be paid each year. We will reimburse all players who are 18 or younger for their clinic fee after they complete 8 games (1 time only). If you are 18 or older you must have a background check completed in order to work Striker games (this is the same policy we follow for all our volunteers over age 18 as well). The Striker office can help you with this.
Registration is available online for the referee certification classes. To register for the referee clinic please go to http://www.IllinoisSoccerRefereeCommittee.org. Directions on “How to Register…” are available on the website. The Grade 8 (center/AR) 2 day course is now open for registration. The Grade 12 (AR only) and re-certification course (1 day each) will be open for registration soon. Please check back.
Questions, please contact Robin Cozette our referee assignor at robin_cozette@ilnd.uscourts.gov.
